About Luis.
I’ve spent over a decade working in graphic design and custom font development, helping businesses and creatives bring clarity and structure to their visual identity. My approach is simple: design should be intentional, usable, and built to last, not just visually appealing in the moment. I take the time to understand what a business actually needs before I start designing, so the end result genuinely fits its purpose. Whether it’s a logo, a typeface, or a full set of marketing materials, I aim to create work that genuinely serves the business behind it.
My Story.
My interest in design started back in high school, where a love for art met a curiosity for computer science, a combination that eventually led me to pursue graphic design as a career. During college, while earning my degree in Graphic Design, a typography professor noticed my eye for letterforms and taught me how to use FontLab. She later hired me to help with vector drawings, kerning, and other parts of her font development process, which is how I got my start working with type. By the time I graduated in 2014, I had already been doing both graphic design and font development professionally for about a year.
Since then, I’ve continued building on both, but type has always been where my focus kept pulling me. I’m currently working on my first independent typeface, something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, supported by a scholarship for a font development workshop. Graphic design remains a core part of what I do, but my goal going forward is to grow into a full-time, independent font developer. Keep an eye out, my first typeface is almost ready, and I’ll be releasing it soon.

How I work.
Think of me as an extension of your team, someone who can take a rough idea and turn it into something clear, usable, and on-brand. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
- Clarify your visual direction, even if you’re not sure exactly what you’re looking for yet.
- Translate ideas into usable, professional assets, from custom typefaces to full design systems.
- Keep things consistent and flexible, so your visuals hold up across every application.
- Get it right the first time, saving you the back-and-forth of revisions and guesswork.
The result: work that helps you look more professional, communicate more clearly, and stand out — without needing to speak “design” yourself. That’s my job.
